Know before you print

Is this your kind of adventure?

01

Who it suits

A birthday group or family team of 2–6, with a suggested reading age of 8+. An adult should print the pages and help younger readers.

02

What to prepare

Print eight essential pages for each team. Add pencils and scrap paper. There are no scissors, locks or envelopes to prepare, and nobody needs to hide clues around the house.

03

What you will do

Follow the party records, compare the evidence and discover what happened to the cake. Every player can contribute by reading a clue, keeping track of the digits or checking the final order.

A little planning goes a long way

More than six birthday guests?

Print a complete set for each team of 2–6 at the same private party. Give teams separate table space so everyone can see their own evidence. The personal-use license covers these private-party copies; it does not cover paid events.

A different group?

For older groups celebrating in October, The Lantern Fair adds a Halloween story at a suggested age of 10+.

What exactly is in the download?

The full kit includes the game in Letter and A4, a separate five-page guide with staged hints and full answers, an optional offline browser hint checker, a start guide, and an invitation/certificate page. Print one paper size. The full product page gives the exact page count.

Can we play without a game master or phone?

Yes. The story and instructions guide you. Use the PDF hint guide when you get stuck; the browser checker is optional. Adults should prepare the printed pages and help younger readers.

Can I see the puzzles before choosing?
